How we determine what is true
Thank You for Your letter. you asked in your letter:
"How it is possible for God to marry a woman and have a son? This is not possible."
Jesus being called the Son of God in the Bible causes many people problems. The Physican Luke in the Gospel of Luke in the Bible explains why Jesus is referred to as the Son of God in Luke 1:31, 34-35. The Angel Gabriel is talking to Mary and telling her that she is going to conceive and have a son. He tells her the following:
"‘And behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.’ . . . And Mary said to the angel, ‘How can this be, since I have not known a man?’ And the angel answered and said to her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most-High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son-of-God.’"
Jesus has hundreds of titles in the Bible which describe the different attributes and nature of His character. He is called the Son of God not because God had a baby God, but because in the creation of the human nature God took on, in addition to the divine nature He already was, His humanity was brought about through conception by God Himself rather than by a Man’s seed. He is called the Son of God in His humanity, not His divinity. The reason for Jesus taking on a human nature is all rapped up in what was required for God to redeem man from his sin, and I will explain this in my next letter.
What I want to discuss with You, first, Munawer is how we determine what is true. Remember that anyone can write a book and say "Thus says God" and many people through history have. Satan can and does counterfeit the gifts of God. You say your book the Qur’an says something and says this is impossible. The Bible states that nothing is impossible with God. God speaking through the prophet Jeremiah in Jeremiah 32:27 said "Behold, I am Yehovah-Elohim over all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?" When the angel Gabriel told Marry she was going to conceive and have a son without having sex with a man, she asked the angel how it was possible? The angel replied in Luke 1:37 "For nothing will be impossible with God." The question is not what the Qur’an or the Bible states as being true, but how do we know which is true? How do we know whether the Bible came from God and is therefore true truth or whether the Qur’an came from God and is true? What is our proof one way or the other? Munawer, this is always the question you must ask about any stated fact as true, especially when it comes to religious truth since our salvation and eternal destiny depend on it.
I mean no disrespect to your faith or prophet, but the fact of the matter is that Mohammad gave no proof to his claims, Whenever a Muslim tries to evangelize me (if I haven’t done it first, he he he), I simply and honestly say to them "If you can prove to me that Mohammad is a prophet of God and that the Qur’an is God’s Holy Word, I will become a Muslim." To date, out of the hundreds of Muslims I have talked to over the years, not one has ever been able to give me an answer to that question. They will spend an hour telling me what their faith and book teaches, statistics about the size and growth of their religion, but never once has anyone given me one sentence about how they know that what their book teaches is true and that it is from God. Before I place my eternal soul in the hands of something, I have to first know how and why they believe it to be true! Why? Because what you believe will determine whether you spend eternity in heaven or eternity in hell.
While Mohammad gave no proof to His claims, Jesus gave absolute undeniable proof to His claims. Jesus claimed that that what Moses wrote was absolutely true truth. He said in John 5:46-47 "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote of Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?" Here is Jesus claiming to be the God of the Old Testament. When Jesus was asked what His proof to his claims were, he did not say, "Don’t ask questions, just believe or we will chop your head off," LOL. No, He did not say that. He said "Okay, I will give you proof that I am God Your Creator in the flesh and that what I say is absolutely true truth. Kill My human body and on the third day I will recreate it healthy and alive to prove to you that I am God Your creator in the flesh Your Redemer." They did kill him and on the third day he did rise from the dead with over 512 witnesses to the fact who walked with Him for forty days after His resurrection. Note these passages in the Bible from several different witnesses to these facts. The Apostle John wrote in the Gospel of John 2:22 "When therefore He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken."
How do we know the Bible is God’s Word? By the testimony of the Physical Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Even Jesus’ followers had doubts about taking the Old Testament literally. "Aw! Common! You don’t really believe in the six day creation story, in the universal flood, that a man was swallowed alive by a fish and that three days later he was vomited up by that fish and lived to tell about it do you?" After Jesus rose from the dead the Apostle John states they no longer had any doubts.
That it was a Physical Resurrection was witnessed to by Jesus Christ Himself after His physical resurrection, He said in Luke 24:39 "See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." So it was a physical resurrection, not a spiritual resurrection as the Qur’an teaches. That the Qur’an is not true is proved true by the fact that God did not raise Mohammad from the dead to prove that his claims or his book were true or that the evil spirit that inspired Mohammed was from God. Mohammad died in the lap of His wife Aysha, he was buried and became dust! He gave no proof to his claims or book being from God. Jesus is alive! The Bible is plain in 1 John 4:1-3,
"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world."
The Bible states that the test of a spirit sent from God and a true prophet of God is about what they profess and teach about Jesus. If they profess that Jesus is the only true God from eternity past who in time took on a human nature through the virgin Mary, that He died on the cross for our sins and rose physically alive from the dead as proof to these claims, then the Bible states that, that spirit and prophet are from God. If they deny this, the Bible states plainly that, that spirit or prophet is not from God. The spirit that influenced Mohammad and Mohammad himself deny who Jesus is. The Qur'an teaches that Jesus was just a man.
Luke a physician witnessed to the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ in Acts 1:3. He wrote "To these He also presented Himself alive, after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days, and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God." Luke tells us that not only did Jesus physically rise from the dead, but that He stayed around for forty more days on earth just for the purpose to prove it was really true, not just a mirage in the distance and He was gone.
Paul testified about Jesus physical resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15:3-8,
"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; and last of all, as it were to one untimely born, He appeared to me also."
Paul tells us in this passage that "Hey! If you don’t believe me, more than 500 people who also witnessed His physical resurrection are still alive! Go ask them!" No one in Paul’s day disputed his writings because it was common knowledge. There are no written documents of the first century to the contrary. The Apostle Peter and the other Apostles stood right in the middle of the temple and preached Jesus’ physical resurrection. No one disputed their claims, it was common knowledge. If He had not risen physically from the dead, all the authorities, Jesus’ enemies, would have had to do was produce the body and everyone would have gone home laughing and Christianity would have died on the spot. Instead 3000 men and women came to saving faith in Jesus that day in the temple.
The Apostle Peter wrote about these facts in 2 Peter 1:16 "For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eye witnesses of His majesty." Of the significance and importance of Jesus’ physical resurrection from the dead, Paul states in 1 Corinthians 15:12-19,
"Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is without-basis, your faith also is without-basis. Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we witnessed against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied."
Paul states here that the claims of Jesus Christ and the Christian religion stand or fall on the fact of Jesus’ physical resurrection. Paul explains that if Jesus did not rise from the dead, then we have no way of knowing that what the Bible teaches is true. He is telling us that the absolute truth of the Bible is based on the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ physical resurrection from the dead is our proof that what Jesus taught is absolutely true truth. Jesus said about Himself to Pilate at his trial "For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice" (John 18:37). Pretty arrogant statement if Jesus was just a man because he does not say he came to bear witness to God’s truth, but His truth and that you had to come to Him to get it. His proof: His physical resurrection from the dead.
The Apostle John testified about Jesus in 1 John 1:1-3,
"What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word of Life [Jesus Christ]—and the life was manifested, and we have seen and bear witness and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us—what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, that you also may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ."
John wrote in the Gospel of John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God." The word "Word" in the Greek, the language the New Testament was written in, is "Logos" and means "reason, intellect." The Bible states that Jesus is the reason or intellect of God, the mind of God. Paul testifies to this in Colossians 2:3, he states that in Jesus "are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."
So, Munawer, we see here we have the witness of Jesus himself that His resurrection is a Physical Resurrection. We also have the witness of the Apostles John, Paul and Peter that it was in fact a Physical Resurrection, and we have the testimony of a Doctor, Doctor Luke that not only was Jesus physically raised from the dead, but that He stayed around for forty days so all could know it was true. Here we have five witnesses of the fact of Jesus’ physical resurrection, five different people, not to mention the 12 apostles and the other 500 people Paul mentioned who were still alive at his writing who could have refuted his claim if it was not true. This is why the Bible is called the Old Testament and the New Testament. This is because it is a collection of the testimonies of several men about the truth, not one man. The Bible contains the testimony of 40 different people, and they all agree about what they saw and heard.
Munawer, the Bible teaches us that every truth, fact, is to be confirmed and verified (seen and born witness to) by the mouth of two or three witnesses. This is what our legal courts are based (supposed to be based on anyway, lol) on: the testimony of two or three witnesses of whether a person is guilty or not. Paul and Peter wrote in 2 Corinthians 13:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:21, and 2 Peter 1:10-11,
"Every fact is to be confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses." (2 Corinthians 13:1)
"But examine-test-scrutinize everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good" (1 Thessalonians 5:21)
"Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you." (2 Peter 1:10-11)
In these passages God commands us to make certain of what is truly of Him, that whatever is of Him will have two or three witnesses. There were over 512 witnesses to the fact of Jesus’ Physical Resurrection. This is what we call over kill. If that was not enough, Jesus stayed around for 40 days so that they could put their hand into his side where his heart was stabbed through, and into his hands where rail road spike size nails were driven through. They were testifying about what they had seen, touched, felt, smelled as well as heard.
What about Mohammad and the Qur’an? Mohammad claimed he received a message from God. What was His proof? Who were his witnesses? There were no witnesses, there was no proof, God did not testify He sent Mohammad or the Qur’an by bringing Mohammad back from the dead. Munawer, there is no evidence that the Qur’an came from God or is from God by God’s own statement about what is true and that is by the testimony of two or three witnesses. We only have the testimony of Mohammad himself. Also the Qur’an, while it does have much spiritual truth, contradicts what the Bible teaches about Jesus, the test of a true prophet, and what it teaches about salvation, what determines whether we will spend our lives in heaven or in hell for eternity. The same is true with the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. We only have His testimony that God gave him the book of Mormon. Joseph Smith like Mohammad also died and is dust. No testimony of God bringing them back from the dead with over 512 witnesses to the fact for forty days that He sent them and that what they wrote is true. So when the Qur’an says it is impossible for God to have a Son, what is your proof that this claim is true (Not to mention that the way Muslims interpet that statement is also not true as taught in the Bible)? You have no proof! That Jesus is the Son of God, of the essence of God and thus God himself manifested in the flesh, and that it is true was proven by Jesus Himself by His own stated proof: His rising from the dead physically alive to prove to you it is true. Paul wrote in Romans 1:3-4,
"Concerning His Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord."
What is Paul saying here? He is saying our proof to Jesus’ claim to be the Son of God was proved true through His rising from the dead. On top of that you have the witness of 512 other people who witnessed it and walked with Jesus for 40 days after he rose from the dead and then witnessed His ascension to heaven where Jesus is alive forevermore. This also proves Jesus’ statement in John 11:25-26 where He states "I am the Resurrection and the Life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die." How do we know if we put our trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord that He will raise us from the dead to everlasting life? Our proof: He rose Himself from the dead with a glorified body and is still alive today. Jesus proved to us through His resurrection that ONLY His death saves us from our sins and that the Bible ONLY is His Book! After Jesus rose from the dead He rebuked His followers for then not taking the Bible literaly. This is what He said:
"‘O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?’ And beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures." (Luke 24:25-27)
"‘Now He said to them, ‘These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.’ Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, ‘Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day.’" (Luke 24:44-46)
In light of this Paul wrote in Romans 10:9-10,
"That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."
You see Munawer, God says if you deny His witness about who Jesus is by bringing Him back from the dead, you are calling God a liar, and if you deny this witness, God says you cannot be saved, you will not go to heaven. That is because Jesus salvation for us through His death and shed blood on the cross are received by faith, not by works. Faith meaning in the testimony of God concerning His Son Jesus Christ, that His death on the cross did pay sins penalty for us, death, and that He proved it true by raising Jesus from the dead. To deny God’s testimony of Jesus’ Physical Resurrection is to deny that Jesus’ death paid for our sins. The end result is that the person who denies this will not be saved. Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast."
Concerning His Physical Resurrection from the dead, Jesus Himself stated it is the only witness God will give to man about what is true. Jesus stated in Matthew 12:39-40,
"An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no sign shall be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet; for just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the large-fish, so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."
Jesus made plain this is God’s witness and that He will give no other witness. When we stand before God the only evidence that He will present before us of what He testified to as to what is true will be the Physical Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Why? Because only the man Jesus did He raise from the dead. He did not raise Mohammed! He died, he was buried, he is dust. He did not raise Joseph Smith! He died, he was buried, he is dust. He did not raise Darwin. He died, he was buried, he is dust. And the same can be said about any other religious person of history: they died, they were buried, they are dust—They proved nothing!!! Only Jesus did. Because He did our salvation hangs on accepting Jesus’ claims and the testimony of His Father: Jesus’ Physical Resurrection from the dead. If we reject it, the Bible states plainly that we WILL come under the judgement of God, in light of God’s testimony through the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ.
"Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead." (Acts 17:30-31)
"For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain terrifying expectation of judgment, and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries." (Hebrews 10:26-27)
I know that the Qur’an and muslim teachers deny what the Bible teaches, but on false grounds and without evidence. I know this because I am a Bible translator and have studied history, archaeology and textual criticism exhaustively and know that what they teach is false, and not true based on the evidence and the witness of both science and History.
It is not just the Bible that witnesses to the fact of Jesus’ Physical Resurrection. Josephus, a Roman historian of Jesus day born in 37 A.D., is considered the most reliable historian of the first century since nothing he has written has ever been refuted or proved false by any other first century finding, document or archaeological artifact; they have only confirmed what he has said. Josephus in his writings testified to the historical fact of Jesus’ physical resurrection from the dead. He wrote,
"Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews, and many of the Gentiles. He was [the] Christ, and when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men among us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him: for he appeared to them alive again the third day: as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. And the tribe of Christians so named from him are not extinct at this day." (Flavius Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, bk. XVIII, chap. III, Section 3).
Some skeptics try to say this was added hundreds of years later by Christians into his writings. The problem with this and why it is not possible is because it appears in all manuscripts of Josephus in existence all over the world. there is not one without it. That is not possible. It is genuine and it was written by Josephus. They did not have printing presses in those days and they would have had to find every manuscript of Josephus in the world and rewrite it letter by letter by hand and destroyed any remaining existing manuscripts without it. Even with all our technology today they could not accomplish such a feat.
It is also recorded in the Roman records themselves and by the enemies of Jesus and I document these records on my website at this link.
Again I ask the question? What evidence is there of the Qur’an being of God or Mohammad being God’s prophet? None! Only the testimony of Mohammad. Munawer, it is not about attacking your book or your prophet, and I apologize if I come across that way, it is not my intention. It is about your eternal salvation. Because God gave no testimony or proof Mohammad is or was sent by him or that the Qur’an is His book, you have no evidence that following the teachings of the Qur’an will save you, none whatsoever. You do have over 512 witnesses to the fact of Jesus’ physical resurrection from the dead, the testimony of the historians of the day and the Roman government, the enemies of Jesus, Jesus' own testimony, and the testimony of God Himself raising Jesus physically from the dead that by putting your trust in what the Bible teaches about Jesus’ salvation for Your sins that you will be saved and go to Heaven! This is why Peter and Paul could state without hesitation in,
Acts 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved."
Acts 17:30-31 "Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead."
Note God’s proof about His source of salvation and judgment: the Physical Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. No other religious founder of history can make this claim. No other religious founder of history had any other witness of what they claimed but themselves. Jesus had over 512 witnesses, the witness of the historians of his day, the witness of the Roman government, and the witness of God Himself (See also this Link for further evidence in the Bible).
Note also that our salvation is dependent on believing on the Jesus taught in the Bible. Who is the Jesus taught in the Bible? He is the ONLY True God from eternity past who in time through Holy Spirit conception of the Virgin Mary took on a complete and total human nature as well, so that today He is fully God and fully Man, but one Person. the Jesus of the Bible also died physically for our sins to save us and give us eternal life and He rose from the dead Physically Alive as absolute proof to these claims. Finally the Bible teaches us that Jesus is alive today and the Lord of Lord's and King of kings and reigns over Heaven and earth today and forever. Faith in any other Jesus taught, such as in the Qur'an, will not save you or give you eternal life. That is why you cannot separate Jesus from the Bible. It is the Jesus taught in the Bible by the followers of Jesus picked by Jesus Himself that our salvation is dependent upon. Both Jesus and the Bible warn about other Jesuses who will be preached and taught about. Jesus said in Matthew 24:23-24,
"Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ‘There He is,’ do not believe him. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect."
Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 11:3-4, & 13-15
"But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully. . . . For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder for Satan transforms himself into an angel of light. It is not a great thing then if his ministers transform themselves as ministers of righteousness; whose end will be according to their works." (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)
Jesus said that false Christs and false prophets would arise to lead others astray. Paul talked about a different Jesus and a different spirit other than the true Jesus and the true Spirit of God influencing men contrary to what Jesus claimed about Himself as taught in the Bible. He said that these are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves as apostles of Christ. Often Muslims will try to say that Mohammad is prophesied in the Bible and they use Deuteronomy Chapter 18 as their basis for this. I explain why this prophecy is not referring to Mohammad but instead to Jesus Christ in this Link. However, Mohammad is is prophesied about in these two passages I just quoted above by Jesus and the Apostle Paul. Mohammad is one of the false teachers who has transformed himself as a messenger of righteousness from God, but is not. Do I doubt the stories about Him, that he received his message from a spirit, that He believed it was of God? No. Where did he and his followers go wrong then? They did not take what they received from this spirit and what he wrote in the Qur’an in the light of God’s word the Bible proved His word, declared His Word by Jesus, through Jesus’ Physical Resurrection from the dead. Jesus said in John 8:47 "He who is of God hears the Words of God." Also in John 17:17 "Sanctify them in the truth, Your word is truth." Also in Matthew 24:35 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away." Note again Jesus said His Words, God's Word.
"When therefore He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken." (John 2:22)
Because Mohammad and his followers did not take the revelation of this evil spirit into the light of the Bible God's Word, they were deceived and led a way from the truth and have taken millions with them and have in fact made themselves enemies of God and all of those who are His true followers. Unfortunately the Bible states in Proverbs 14:12 that "There is a way which seems right to a man’, but its end is the way of death." Christianity was built on the corpses of Christians who refused to deny Jesus or use violence as a means of spreading Christianity. The Roman empire was conquered through the love of Christ and Christians, not through the sword. In contrast and just the opposite of what Jesus taught, the Qur’an teaches to kill Christians and Jews and infidels, thus showing its true author: Satan himself. Jesus said about Satan,
"He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature; for he is a liar, and the father of it." (John 8:44)
God, Jesus, does not spread His truth through force. I am called to share the love of Jesus Christ with others only as they are open to hear it and I am commanded by God in His word to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). I am not called to force it on anyone. God’s Kingdom is built with men and women who choose freely to be a part of His kingdom, not through fear and violence. The Bible teaches that "The Love of Christ constrains us" and that it is the "Kindness of God that leads you to repentance" (2 Corinthians 5:14, Romans 2:4). Islam, however, spreads its message and makes converts through fear and threats of life or death, not out of conviction of heart and mind that the message is true and truly of God. My fiancé, Leah, why did I need to rescue her? Because in the face of the leaders of Islam in Pakistan she refused to deny Jesus. They gave her two weeks to leave her city or they would kill her. In contrast Jesus said and taught His followers recorded in Luke 6:27-38
"But I say to You who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your cloak [outer garment], do not withhold your tunic [worn next to the body] from him either. Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. And just as you want people to treat you, treat them in the same way. And if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, in order to receive back the same amount. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most-High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. And do not judge and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned. Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, they will pour into your lap. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return."
As Christians, followers of Jesus Christ, we are commanded to love our enemies and to do good to those who hate us. In fact the Bible states plainly in 1 John 3:15 "Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal spiritual-life abiding in him." To do otherwise we would be in danger of even losing our own souls. Jesus said in John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his soul for his friends." As Christians we are called to give our own lives for others, not take them." As You can see the teaching of the Bible and Jesus are completely opposite of what Mohammad and the Qur'an teach. The influence of Mohammad and the Qur'an are of a different spirit and a different Jesus, not the Jesus taught in the Bible.
Munawer, I am going to answer your other questions, but while I can explain them in a way you can simply understand, like in this letter, I cannot state them simply in few words. I know "blessed are the brief, for they shall have lower phone bills" LOL. Sorry, I am attempting to keep my answers as brief as possible. However, in this first letter, I wanted to share with you how we determine what is true and to show you that the establishment of the religion of Islam is based on no proof of its founder or its book at all. You said in your letter,
"If Muslims are not true then why do so many people praise the Muslim prophet Mohammad and so many millions follow this faith throughout the world"
Munawer, history is litered with stories of people who followed someone who in the end proved to be a monster. The moral of this story is popularity is not evidence of what is true. The religious leaders, governments and surrounding nations of Jesus day crucified Him on a cross. Did that make it right and true to do? They were wrong. Popularity is not a basis for knowing what is true. Higher education against all evidence today teaches that evolution is true and allows no contrary theories. I have studied the facts of science for 34 years and the facts (note I said facts, not claims of science) do not support evolution. Here is just one article of mine at this link which demonstrates this graphically. In this second and third link I document it in all areas of science.
In my next letter I will talk about the nature of sin and why this required God to take on a human nature in order to redeem man from his sin. Jesus said about the reason why He took on a human nature and came into the world:
"For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him." (John 3:17)
"For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them." (Luke 9:56)
I will also in a later letter talk about more reasons why God took on a human nature.
Sincerely in Jesus,
Dale P. Kruse
